भारतीय टेलीकॉम रेगुलेटरी अथॉरिटी (TRAI) ने नए नियम जारी किए हैं। अब टेलीकॉम कंपनियों को ऐसे प्लान भी देने होंगे जिनमें सिर्फ वॉइस कॉल और SMS की सुविधा हो। ये स्पेशल टैरिफ वाउचर (STVs) उन ग्राहकों के लिए हैं जिन्हें डेटा की ज़रूरत नहीं है। कंपनियों को ये विकल्प बंडल प्लान के बराबर वैलिडिटी के साथ देने होंगे, जिसमें मंथली रिन्यूअल भी शामिल है। इन प्लान्स की कीमत बंडल प्लान्स के मुकाबले कम होगी, ताकि ग्राहकों को ज़्यादा विकल्प मिल सकें।
