Pillay previously served as a judge at the International Criminal Court and as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. She currently works as a jurist-lawyer at the ICC. The award has drawn criticism from some, including supporters of former US President Donald Trump, who have reposted past criticisms of Mohammadi.
