A man in Swansea, Wales, known as the 'Silent Man', has been arrested 12 times for repeatedly blocking De La Beche Street since 2014. David Hampson has consistently refused to speak to police, lawyers, or judges, leading courts to investigate his silence. Prison officers confirmed he could speak, and a jury found him 'mute of malice' in 2018. Despite prison sentences, he continued the behaviour, most recently being detained in December 2021.
