Hindustan Times · politics
DMK leader Thangam Thennarasu has accused the Tamil Nadu government of deliberately stalling development works and withholding contractor payments. He claims this is being done to falsely project reduced debt as a financial achievement. Thennarasu highlighted that while state borrowing fell by 21% in the first half, the government plans a massive ₹48,000 crore borrowing for the October-December quarter. He questioned the government's silence on underlying economic realities and demanded full details of capital expenditure and developmental works undertaken.
