Approximately 70,000 teachers in Uttar Pradesh's government primary and upper primary schools are set to receive promotions after a decade-long wait. The Basic Shiksha Parishad has instructed all district Basic Education Officers to prepare seniority lists within three weeks. These teachers have not been promoted since 2016, impacting career progression. The promotion process is expected to commence in November, bringing relief to educators who have been advocating for this change for years. This move aligns with the Right to Education Act's recommendations for adequate staffing.

उत्तर प्रदेश के सरकारी प्राथमिक और उच्च प्राथमिक स्कूलों में लगभग 70,000 शिक्षकों को एक दशक के लंबे इंतजार के बाद पदोन्नति मिलने वाली है। बेसिक शिक्षा परिषद ने सभी जिला बेसिक शिक्षा अधिकारियों को तीन हफ्तों के अंदर वरिष्ठता सूची तैयार करने का निर्देश दिया है। इन शिक्षकों को 2016 से पदोन्नति नहीं मिली थी, जिससे उनके करियर की प्रगति पर असर पड़ रहा था। पदोन्नति की प्रक्रिया नवंबर में शुरू होने की उम्मीद है, जिससे उन शिक्षकों को राहत मिलेगी जो सालों से इस बदलाव की वकालत कर रहे थे। यह कदम शिक्षा के अधिकार अधिनियम की पर्याप्त स्टाफिंग की सिफारिशों के अनुरूप है।
