Jammu and Kashmir has introduced a one-time option for specific government employees to switch from the National Pension System (NPS) to the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). This applies to employees whose posts were advertised before NPS introduction but who joined after January 1, 2010. The Finance Department issued the order on September 28, allowing eligible individuals until December 28, 2026, to make this final choice. This move addresses a timing anomaly where recruitment processes began under the old system but appointments occurred after NPS implementation.
