Kerala: School Construction Halted After Earth Cave-In Near Apartments

District Collector Anju K.S. has ordered a halt to construction at Good Shepherd School in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, following a significant earth cave-in. The incident occurred after soil was removed unscientifically from the school compound, leading to a collapse just meters from the adjacent PRS Lake Villa apartments. A boundary wall was destroyed and a 50-meter stretch of road collapsed. Residents of the apartments have been ordered to evacuate urgently, with the school responsible for arranging their accommodation.

जिला कलेक्टर अंजू के.एस. ने तिरुवनंतपुरम, केरल में गुड शेफर्ड स्कूल में निर्माण कार्य पर रोक लगाने का आदेश दिया है, क्योंकि वहां जमीन का एक बड़ा हिस्सा धंस गया है। यह घटना स्कूल परिसर से अवैज्ञानिक तरीके से मिट्टी हटाने के बाद हुई, जिससे पास के पीआरएस लेक विला अपार्टमेंट से कुछ ही मीटर की दूरी पर ढह गया। एक सीमा दीवार नष्ट हो गई और 50 मीटर सड़क का हिस्सा ढह गया। अपार्टमेंट के निवासियों को तत्काल खाली करने का आदेश दिया गया है, और स्कूल को उनके आवास की व्यवस्था करने की जिम्मेदारी दी गई है।
