The Hindu · india
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has increased the number of permitted attempts for first-year MBBS students to clear their examinations from four to five. This revised provision will benefit students admitted from the 2019 batch onwards. The NMC had previously granted an additional mercy chance due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While the number of attempts has increased, the overall period allowed for completing the MBBS course, including the internship, remains unchanged at 10 years. University officials urge students to utilize this opportunity effectively.
