Supreme Court Orders No Illegal Detentions During Peaceful Delhi Gatherings

The Supreme Court has directed that peaceful, unarmed protesters in Delhi cannot be detained except according to law. The court also ordered metro and railway services to operate normally, internet connectivity to remain undisturbed, and free movement of people to be restored. Authorities were also instructed to remove prohibitory restrictions around court complexes to ensure unhindered access to justice. These directions came after an urgent hearing on petitions alleging mass detentions and curbs ahead of a protest.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने निर्देश दिया है कि दिल्ली में शांतिपूर्ण, निहत्थे प्रदर्शनकारियों को कानून के अनुसार ही हिरासत में लिया जा सकता है। अदालत ने मेट्रो और रेलवे सेवाओं को सामान्य रूप से संचालित करने, इंटरनेट कनेक्टिविटी को बाधित न करने और लोगों की आवाजाही को बहाल करने का भी आदेश दिया। अधिकारियों को न्याय तक निर्बाध पहुंच सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अदालत परिसरों के आसपास निषेधाज्ञा प्रतिबंधों को हटाने का भी निर्देश दिया गया था। ये निर्देश एक विरोध प्रदर्शन से पहले बड़े पैमाने पर हिरासत और प्रतिबंधों के आरोपों वाली याचिकाओं पर तत्काल सुनवाई के बाद आए।
