New research suggests Pluto's moon Charon may have rotated much faster in its early history, with a period of approximately fourteen hours. Evidence from ancient landscapes in Oz Terra, specifically tectonic features, indicates a period of rapid despinning. These structures are consistent with models of crustal compression caused by slowing rotation.
