Last-Minute Exam Papers May Compromise Standards, Experts Warn
Hindustan Times · education
Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani proposed generating exam papers at the last minute from large question banks to prevent leaks. However, educators and experts are raising concerns that this approach could compromise academic standards and exam quality. They question whether computer-generated selections can ensure balanced syllabus coverage and comparable difficulty. Experts also noted that assembling a coherent and appropriately balanced paper requires specialized academic expertise, which might be lost in a last-minute, automated process. Substantial investment in securing computer-based testing infrastructure is also deemed necessary.
