Mexican Olympic surfer Alan Cleland Jr. has been provisionally suspended by both the World Surf League and the International Surfing Association. These actions follow serious allegations linked to a private gathering in Tahiti in August 2026, reportedly involving an Australian teenage female surfer and at least three men. Cleland has not been charged over these allegations. Separately, his former girlfriend, German surfer Noah Klapp, has accused him of physical and sexual abuse during their relationship. Both surfing organizations have stated their suspensions are precautionary measures.
