Supreme Court Extends Delhi Voter List Addition Deadline
Times of India · politics
The Supreme Court has directed the Election Commission to continue accepting voter registration forms in Delhi beyond the October 30 deadline. This decision offers relief to over 43 lakh voters whose names were excluded from the draft electoral rolls. The court questioned the EC's insistence on Form 6 for previously registered voters who had shifted constituencies, suggesting Form 8 would be more appropriate. The bench emphasized the importance of the right to vote and aims to reduce the number of deleted names.
