MP Sudha Murty Tells UNGA Outer Space Should Be For Cooperation, Not Conflict
Hindustan Times · world
India has urged the United Nations to establish a legally binding international instrument to prevent an arms race in outer space, emphasizing it should remain a realm for cooperation, not conflict. Member of Parliament Sudha Murty stated that while India is a major space-faring nation with developmental and security interests, outer space belongs to all humanity. She highlighted the emergence of dual-use technologies and the need to address threats to space safety and sustainability collectively. India also supports transparency measures but insists they should complement, not replace, a binding treaty.
