केंद्रीय मंत्री अर्जुन राम मेघवाल ने SIR मुद्दे को बेवजह उठाने के लिए राहुल गांधी और कांग्रेस पार्टी की आलोचना की। मेघवाल ने कहा कि जनता एक स्वच्छ मतदाता सूची चाहती है और कांग्रेस पर इसके इर्द-गिर्द एक राजनीतिक नैरेटिव बनाने की कोशिश करने का आरोप लगाया। उन्होंने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि 'डबल इंजन' सरकार, जिसमें केंद्र और राज्य में एक ही पार्टी का शासन हो, विरोधाभासों को दूर करके विकास को गति देती है। मेघवाल ने विकास प्रक्रिया में स्थानीय निकायों को एकीकृत करते हुए 'ट्रिपल इंजन' सरकार की अवधारणा पर भी प्रकाश डाला।
