A Bengaluru consumer commission has ordered Samith Chits Pvt Ltd to pay ₹4,07,940 to a subscriber who won a ₹5 lakh chit fund bid but received only ₹20,000. The subscriber had paid ₹12,500 monthly for 40 months. The company issued two cheques totalling ₹4,27,940, but both bounced due to insufficient funds. The commission also mandated 6.5% annual interest on the outstanding amount and ₹3,000 for proceedings costs. Samith Chits failed to appear before the commission, leading to an ex parte decision.

एक बेंगलुरु उपभोक्ता आयोग ने समिथ चिट्स प्राइवेट लिमिटेड को एक ग्राहक को ₹4,07,940 का भुगतान करने का आदेश दिया है। इस ग्राहक ने ₹5 लाख की चिट फंड बोली जीती थी, लेकिन उसे केवल ₹20,000 ही मिले थे। ग्राहक ने 40 महीनों तक हर महीने ₹12,500 का भुगतान किया था। कंपनी ने ₹4,27,940 के दो चेक जारी किए थे, लेकिन अपर्याप्त धनराशि के कारण दोनों बाउंस हो गए। आयोग ने बकाया राशि पर 6.5% वार्षिक ब्याज और कार्यवाही लागत के लिए ₹3,000 का भुगतान करने का भी आदेश दिया। समिथ चिट्स आयोग के समक्ष पेश नहीं हुआ, जिसके कारण एकतरफा फैसला सुनाया गया।
