BJP Overtakes Congress in Kerala Bypolls

In Kerala's local body by-elections across 38 seats, the BJP secured a significant second position in Thiruvananthapuram's Oottur division, pushing the Congress-led UDF to third place. While the LDF candidate won the Oottur seat, the BJP's performance indicates a growing support base in southern Kerala. The results also saw the UDF leading overall with 19 seats, closely followed by the LDF with 18 seats. The BJP's strengthened presence challenges traditional political alliances in the state.

केरल में 38 सीटों पर हुए स्थानीय निकाय उपचुनाव में, भाजपा ने तिरुवनंतपुरम के ऊट्टूर डिवीजन में महत्वपूर्ण दूसरा स्थान हासिल किया, जिससे कांग्रेस के नेतृत्व वाले UDF को तीसरे स्थान पर धकेल दिया गया। हालाँकि LDF उम्मीदवार ने ऊट्टूर सीट जीती, लेकिन भाजपा के प्रदर्शन ने दक्षिणी केरल में उसके बढ़ते समर्थन आधार का संकेत दिया। परिणामों में UDF कुल मिलाकर 19 सीटों के साथ आगे रहा, जिसके बाद LDF 18 सीटों के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर रहा। भाजपा की मजबूत उपस्थिति ने राज्य में पारंपरिक राजनीतिक गठबंधनों को चुनौती दी है।
