Times of India · politics

Book sales at stalls set up by Left parties near Durga Puja pandals in Kolkata saw a significant surge this year, despite reports of vandalism and book destruction. The CPM stall at Jadavpur 8B bus stand reported sales of Rs 16 lakh, a nearly fourfold increase from last year. Other Left-affiliated stalls also experienced substantial sales growth, with SUCI (Communist) sales increasing by approximately 40% to 50% overall.
