In a significant relief for patients ahead of Diwali, the prices of 137 non-scheduled cancer drugs have been substantially reduced. This decision follows strong intervention from the NPPA. The new pricing will be effective from November, significantly lowering treatment costs for cancer patients. Previously, exorbitant profits were being charged on these essential medicines, placing a heavy financial burden on ordinary individuals. The Supreme Court had strongly condemned these practices, calling them daylight robbery.

दिवाली से पहले मरीजों को बड़ी राहत मिली है। 137 नॉन-शेड्यूल्ड कैंसर दवाओं की कीमतों में भारी कटौती की गई है। यह फैसला NPPA के कड़े हस्तक्षेप के बाद आया है। नई कीमतें नवंबर से लागू होंगी, जिससे कैंसर के मरीजों के इलाज का खर्च काफी कम हो जाएगा। पहले इन जरूरी दवाओं पर भारी मुनाफा वसूला जा रहा था, जिससे आम लोगों पर भारी आर्थिक बोझ पड़ रहा था। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने इन हरकतों की कड़ी निंदा की थी और इसे दिनदहाड़े लूट बताया था।
