Two promising young athletes from Odisha, U-23 sprinter Mrutyam Jayaram Dondapati and 400m runner Malay Barik, tragically died in a road accident on the Cuttack highway late Wednesday night. Dondapati was recognized as one of India's fastest under-23 sprinters for 2025. Their untimely deaths have deeply saddened Odisha's sporting community. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed his profound grief, offering condolences to the families and praying for eternal peace for the departed souls.
