Cong, TMC slam BJP over Nandigram candidate arrest

The Congress and TMC have jointly criticized the BJP following the arrest of Milan Pradhan, the Congress candidate for the Nandigram bypoll. Both parties highlighted that the arrest stems from an old case and occurred shortly after Mamata Banerjee announced her faction's support for the Congress. Banerjee called it the BJP's "usual formula" of political vendetta, while Rahul Gandhi termed it "political revenge" and an attack on democracy.
