Business Standard · business

India's free trade agreement with New Zealand, effective Tuesday, aims to boost the nation's trade diversification strategy amid geopolitical uncertainties. This marks India's second trade deal in the Oceania region, following Australia. The pact is expected to significantly expand and diversify bilateral trade, which currently stands at around $1.2 billion annually, with a goal to double it by 2030. New Zealand has committed to a $20 billion investment over 15 years, while India offers duty concessions on 70% of tariff lines, excluding sensitive domestic industries.
