Eighth-grader designs controlled-release antacid medicine

An eighth-grader from Pennsylvania, Sai Sri Valli Mogilineedi, has been named a top researcher for designing a novel controlled-release system for GERD drugs. Her project aims to improve how antacid medicines work by releasing them slowly over time, potentially reducing the need for frequent doses. Mogilineedi's innovative approach was recognized in the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge, where she was selected as one of 30 national finalists from nearly 2,000 applicants.
