Nepal Suspends Transport Due To Landslides

Nepal has suspended public transport services to and from Kathmandu due to incessant rainfall causing landslides that have blocked key highways. The Prithvi and BP highways, crucial links to the capital, are impassable, disrupting travel to Bagmati, Gandaki, and Madhesh provinces. Overnight restrictions are in place on parts of the BP Highway, with authorities assessing further measures. Long-distance vehicles are being held back in Kathmandu, while light vehicles can use alternative routes. The disruptions highlight the severe impact of continuous rain across the Himalayan nation.
