Left Parties To Contest Tamil Nadu Bypolls Independently

CPI and Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) will contest the upcoming byelections in Tamil Nadu's Dharapuram and Madurantakam Assembly constituencies independently. The CPI will field a candidate for Dharapuram, while the CPI(M) will contest Madurantakam. This decision makes the bypolls a four-cornered contest, potentially a five-cornered fight if another party joins. The Left parties aim to appeal to politically conscious students and youth.
