Aluva Municipality Faces Opposition Allegations Over Fund Misuse

Opposition councillors in Aluva municipality have raised objections to the council's plan for utilising Rs 7.14 crore from the 16th Finance Commission grant for 2026-27. They allege large-scale irregularities, violations of guidelines, and wasteful expenditure, including diverting funds meant for sanitation and waste management. The opposition highlighted proposed allocations for LED walls and tiling work instead of essential renovations and addressing waterlogging. They plan to file formal complaints with the district planning committee and audit department, vowing to prevent the alleged misuse of funds.

अलुवा नगरपालिका में विपक्ष के पार्षदों ने 16वें वित्त आयोग से 2026-27 के लिए मिले 7.14 करोड़ रुपये के इस्तेमाल की योजना पर आपत्ति जताई है। उनका आरोप है कि बड़े पैमाने पर अनियमितताएं, दिशानिर्देशों का उल्लंघन और फिजूलखर्ची हुई है, जिसमें स्वच्छता और कचरा प्रबंधन के लिए रखे गए फंड को दूसरी जगह इस्तेमाल किया गया है। विपक्ष ने पानी जमा होने की समस्या को दूर करने और ज़रूरी मरम्मत के बजाय LED वॉल और टाइलिंग के काम के लिए प्रस्तावित आवंटन पर जोर दिया। वे जिला योजना समिति और ऑडिट विभाग में औपचारिक शिकायत दर्ज कराने की योजना बना रहे हैं और कथित दुरुपयोग को रोकने की कसम खाई है।
