Food safety officials in Visakhapatnam have uncovered stale ingredients, including rotten meat and frozen chicken, during inspections of popular hotels. This comes amid a rapid expansion of dining establishments and rising consumer complaints about food quality. The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation's Food Safety wing has filed nearly 130 cases against hotels this year, collecting Rs 28 lakh in fines.
