Smugglers Ram Forest Vehicle, Injuring Four

A high-speed chase involving red sanders smugglers turned violent near Rompicherla in Annamayya district on Sunday. Forest officials attempted to intercept a vehicle carrying red sanders logs, but the smugglers allegedly rammed their SUV into the patrol vehicle to escape. Two forest beat officers and two suspected smugglers sustained serious injuries in the collision. All four were transported to SVRR Government Hospital in Tirupati for treatment.
