Uttarakhand Minister Subodh Uniyal has clarified his actions during a stage confrontation with singer Daler Mehndi, stating he did not intend to hurt the artist. Uniyal claimed Mehndi appeared unwell and possibly under the influence, prompting his intervention as a local representative. He suggested Mehndi should have informed organisers about his condition beforehand, citing an instance where singer Sunanda Sharma refunded payment due to illness. The minister added that he was under pressure to address the situation and had not used foul language.

उत्तराखंड के मंत्री सुबोध उनियाल ने गायक दलेर मेहंदी के साथ मंच पर हुई कहासुनी के दौरान अपने कार्यों को स्पष्ट किया है, यह कहते हुए कि उनका इरादा कलाकार को चोट पहुँचाने का नहीं था। उनियाल ने दावा किया कि मेहंदी अस्वस्थ लग रहे थे और संभवतः नशे में थे, जिसके कारण एक स्थानीय प्रतिनिधि के तौर पर उन्होंने हस्तक्षेप किया। उन्होंने सुझाव दिया कि मेहंदी को पहले आयोजकों को अपनी स्थिति के बारे में सूचित करना चाहिए था, और एक ऐसे उदाहरण का हवाला दिया जहाँ गायिका सुनंदा शर्मा ने बीमारी के कारण भुगतान वापस कर दिया था।
