Institutional Housing Investment Dips 39% To $695 Million In 9 Months

Business Standard · business

Institutional investments in India's residential real estate segment saw a significant 39% annual decline, falling to $695 million during January-September this year. This downturn is attributed to realty firms increasingly preferring internal accruals for project funding. In contrast, office assets experienced a 46% surge in investments, reaching $2,169.3 million, while industrial and logistics parks grew by 15%. Retail real estate investments, however, plummeted by 78%. Despite the residential dip, overall real estate investment trends show mixed performance across different asset classes.
