Child Rights Activists Flay Frisking of School Kids

Child rights activists have strongly criticised the frisking of school children and their bags ahead of Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay’s breakfast scheme event at a Chennai school. Organisations like the Institution for Development Education and Action (IDEA) stated that schools should remain safe spaces for children. They argued that such security measures can make students feel suspicious in their own educational environment, even during important visits.

चेन्नई के एक स्कूल में मुख्यमंत्री सी. जोसेफ विजय के नाश्ता योजना कार्यक्रम से पहले बच्चों और उनके बैग की तलाशी को बाल अधिकार कार्यकर्ताओं ने कड़ी आलोचना की है। इंस्टीट्यूशन फॉर डेवलपमेंट एजुकेशन एंड एक्शन (IDEA) जैसे संगठनों ने कहा कि स्कूल बच्चों के लिए सुरक्षित जगह होने चाहिए। उनका तर्क था कि ऐसी सुरक्षा व्यवस्था छात्रों को अपने स्कूल में भी शक के घेरे में महसूस करा सकती है।
