Bihar's Mokama-Munger Highway Project Faces Delays Amidst Compensation Issues
TV9 Hindi · india
The 4,447 crore Mokama-Munger Greenfield Four Lane Project in Bihar is stalled due to slow land acquisition and compensation processes. Out of approximately 1,400 landowners whose land is to be acquired in Munger district, only 35 have received compensation totaling 11.75 crore rupees. The 82.2 km highway, designed to pass through four districts, faces further hurdles with around 300 houses and shops in Munger's Safiasarai area potentially affected. Flooding and a strike by surveyors have also hampered progress, raising concerns among local residents about displacement and fair compensation.
