Actor Imran Khan was detained by Mumbai Police on October 10 at August Kranti Maidan. The protest was planned in support of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and to demand the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner over alleged irregularities. Police stated that no permission was sought for the demonstration, and it would not have been granted due to Bombay High Court directions restricting protests to Azad Maidan. This detention follows similar actions in Delhi where over 1,500 people were held.
