Katie Boulter's first-round match at the Japan Women's Open in Osaka was stopped on Monday due to heavy rain. The British player was competing against Japanese wildcard Himeno Sakatsume when the weather forced a suspension of play. The match was interrupted shortly after it began, with only three games completed. Sakatsume was leading 2-1 at the time of the stoppage. This delay adds to Boulter's recent struggles, as she has played limited matches since September 30.
