Commentators Benny Johnson, Nick Sortor Face Scrutiny Over Talarico Claims

Hindustan Times · politics

Conservative commentators Benny Johnson and Nick Sortor are facing scrutiny for pushing claims about Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico's absence from public events. They shared an audio recording suggesting Talarico was discharged from an Ohio mental health facility, though Talarico's campaign stated he was recovering from the flu. The identity of the woman in the recording and her role at the facility remain unestablished, and the facility has not confirmed Talarico's treatment. Social media users have criticized Johnson and Sortor for allegedly spreading misinformation.
