Pakistan Spends Over $3 Billion to Stop PTI

Pakistan's government is set to spend over 1 billion Pakistani rupees to prevent a protest by Imran Khan's party, PTI. The demonstration, initially planned for and now postponed to, aims to secure the release of the jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The extended security measures include renting shipping containers and accommodating police forces from other provinces. Authorities have also imposed Section 144 in Islamabad, prohibiting gatherings of five or more people to maintain order.
