Taiwan's Deputy Foreign Minister Chen Ming-chi stated that China is suspected of being behind Pakistan's brief closure of its airspace to Taiwanese airlines. He argued this action sends a dangerous message about Beijing's leverage. Pakistan had cited support for Beijing's One-China policy when initially denying access, forcing airlines to reroute. Taiwan's Foreign Ministry condemned the move as "parroting China's distorted narrative." Chen indicated Taipei would cooperate with the US and other "freedom-loving" countries on the issue.
