Ram Faced Dilemma: Brother's Death Sentence For Breaking Secret Meeting

A popular legend from the Ramayana describes a situation where Lord Ram had to sentence his brother Lakshman to death. This arose from a promise Ram made to Yama, the god of death, that anyone interrupting their private meeting would face capital punishment. Lakshman was tasked with guarding the door and preventing any intrusion. However, the sage Durvasa arrived and threatened to curse Lakshman, his family, and all of Ayodhya if he was not granted immediate access to Ram.

रामायण की एक लोकप्रिय कथा में बताया गया है कि कैसे भगवान राम को अपने भाई लक्ष्मण को मृत्युदंड सुनाना पड़ा था। यह तब हुआ जब राम ने मृत्यु के देवता यमराज से वादा किया था कि जो भी उनकी निजी बैठक में बाधा डालेगा, उसे मौत की सज़ा मिलेगी। लक्ष्मण को दरवाज़े की रखवाली करने और किसी भी घुसपैठ को रोकने का काम सौंपा गया था। लेकिन, ऋषि दुर्वासा आ गए और उन्होंने लक्ष्मण को श्राप देने की धमकी दी, अगर उन्हें तुरंत राम से मिलने नहीं दिया गया तो वे लक्ष्मण, उनके परिवार और पूरे अयोध्या को श्राप देंगे।
