Jharkhand's department of women, child development, and social security has designed a state action plan to combat substance abuse. The plan awaits approval from the Union ministry of social justice and empowerment. Department secretary Uma Shankar Singh emphasized that tackling addiction requires a sustained people's movement, not superficial drives. Success should be measured by lives transformed, not just activities conducted. The plan calls for collaboration among government departments, local bodies, and communities, mobilizing self-help groups and frontline workers for early identification and prevention.

झारखंड के महिला, बाल विकास और सामाजिक सुरक्षा विभाग ने नशीली दवाओं के दुरुपयोग से निपटने के लिए एक राज्य कार्य योजना तैयार की है। यह योजना केंद्रीय सामाजिक न्याय और सशक्तिकरण मंत्रालय से मंजूरी का इंतजार कर रही है। विभाग के सचिव उमा शंकर सिंह ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि नशे की लत से निपटना सतही अभियानों से नहीं, बल्कि एक स्थायी जन आंदोलन की मांग करता है। सफलता को केवल की गई गतिविधियों से नहीं, बल्कि बदले गए जीवन से मापा जाना चाहिए।
