Despite a recent inspection by the Chief Minister, Chennai's Government Hospital for Women and Institute of Child Health remain in poor condition. The campus is untidy, with potential mosquito breeding sites like plastic waste and stagnant water. Patients and their families face a lack of basic amenities, including seating, adequate toilets, and drinking water. Children were seen sleeping on pavements, and families sat on the floor.
