Congress Attacks New MGNREGA Grievance Rules, Calls Them Weak

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has strongly criticized the Central Rural Development Ministry's new grievance redressal rules for the MGNREGA scheme. He stated that these rules, notified, weaken workers' rights by removing penalties for delayed complaint resolution and dropping mandatory criminal proceedings for financial irregularities. The final rules also eliminate the mandatory oversight by elected Panchayati Raj institutions and weekly grievance hearing days, making workers more powerless and turning their rights into mere rhetoric.

कांग्रेस नेता Jairam Ramesh ने ग्रामीण विकास मंत्रालय के मनरेगा योजना के लिए नए शिकायत निवारण नियमों की कड़ी आलोचना की है। उन्होंने कहा कि इन नियमों से देरी से शिकायतें सुलझाने पर लगने वाले जुर्माने को हटाकर और वित्तीय अनियमितताओं के लिए अनिवार्य आपराधिक कार्यवाही को खत्म करके मजदूरों के अधिकार कमजोर किए गए हैं। अंतिम नियमों में निर्वाचित पंचायती राज संस्थाओं की अनिवार्य निगरानी और साप्ताहिक शिकायत सुनवाई दिवस को भी खत्म कर दिया गया है, जिससे मजदूर और अधिक शक्तिहीन हो गए हैं और उनके अधिकार केवल जुमले बनकर रह गए हैं।
