Three people were injured in a gunfight in Manipur's Kamjong district on Saturday, as tensions escalated between Kuki and Naga communities. The incident followed an earlier clash that resulted in one Kuki man's death and four injuries. Suspected Kuki militants allegedly set ablaze two Tangkhul Naga villages, Skipe and Pilong, near the Indo-Myanmar border. Police suspect this was retaliation for the earlier killings. The Assam Rifles' alleged involvement in aiding Kuki militants during the firing has also been reported.
