India Industrial Output Grows 8% in August

India's industrial production saw an 8% year-on-year growth in August, a significant acceleration from July's 6.7%. This expansion was primarily driven by strong performance in the manufacturing and electricity and gas supply sectors. Manufacturing output increased by 9%, while electricity and gas supply rose by 12.3%. Despite a contraction in mining and quarrying, 18 out of 23 manufacturing industry groups recorded positive growth. Capital goods, intermediate goods, and consumer durables were the main contributors to the overall industrial production growth.
