Bangladesh has secured a loan of approximately $335.78 million (around ₹3,223 crore) from China for the expansion of its Mongla Port. This comes after Bangladesh previously cancelled an economic zone project intended for India near the same port. The funds will be used to construct two new container terminals and create separate areas for cargo handling and movement. This initiative aims to enhance the port's capacity and efficiency, making it better equipped to manage increased cargo volumes.
