Indiana executed Jeffrey Weisheit on Thursday, November 5, for the 2010 murders of his girlfriend's two young children. Weisheit, 50, was convicted of setting a house fire that killed the children, aged 8 and 5. His appeals for a commutation to life imprisonment and brain scans were rejected by Governor Mike Braun. Meanwhile, Florida and Alabama were also scheduled to carry out executions on the same day, marking the second time this year three executions have been set for a single day in the US.
