Karnataka Faces Power Shortage But No Load-Shedding

Karnataka Energy Minister K.J. George stated on Sunday that the state is currently not experiencing load-shedding, despite a power deficit of approximately 1,000 MW. The Energy Department has been managing the situation for the past six to eight months by purchasing additional power from other states like Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. While renewable energy generation has declined and a thermal plant is under repair, the minister assured that power supply to irrigation pump sets would soon be restored to the scheduled seven hours.

कर्नाटक के ऊर्जा मंत्री K.J. George ने रविवार को कहा कि राज्य में लगभग 1,000 MW की बिजली की कमी के बावजूद फिलहाल कोई लोड-शेडिंग नहीं हो रही है। ऊर्जा विभाग पिछले छह से आठ महीनों से पंजाब, हरियाणा और उत्तर प्रदेश जैसे अन्य राज्यों से अतिरिक्त बिजली खरीदकर स्थिति संभाल रहा है। हालांकि नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा उत्पादन में गिरावट आई है और एक थर्मल प्लांट मरम्मत के अधीन है, मंत्री ने आश्वासन दिया कि सिंचाई पंप सेटों को जल्द ही निर्धारित सात घंटे बिजली की आपूर्ति बहाल कर दी जाएगी।
