Ex-Financial Services Secretary Nagaraju Appointed IL&FS CMD for Two Years

Former financial services secretary M. Nagaraju has been appointed as the new chairman and managing director of Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Ltd (IL&FS). The Ministry of Corporate Affairs designated Nagaraju to lead the debt-laden group for a period of two years, succeeding Nand Kishore. Nagaraju retired in May after overseeing policy for banks, insurers, and pensions. His appointment comes as IL&FS is in the final stages of its corporate resolution efforts, having already resolved over 94% of its targeted value and discharged significant debt since its 2018 collapse.

पूर्व वित्तीय सेवा सचिव एम. नागराजू को इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर लीजिंग एंड फाइनेंशियल सर्विसेज लिमिटेड (IL&FS) का नया चेयरमैन और मैनेजिंग डायरेक्टर नियुक्त किया गया है। कॉर्पोरेट मामलों के मंत्रालय ने नागराजू को दो साल की अवधि के लिए ऋण-ग्रस्त समूह का नेतृत्व करने के लिए नामित किया है, जो नंद किशोर के उत्तराधिकारी होंगे। नागराजू मई में बैंकों, बीमा कंपनियों और पेंशन के लिए नीति की देखरेख के बाद सेवानिवृत्त हुए थे। उनकी नियुक्ति ऐसे समय में हुई है जब IL&FS अपने कॉर्पोरेट समाधान प्रयासों के अंतिम चरण में है, जिसने 2018 में ढहने के बाद से अपने लक्षित मूल्य का 94% से अधिक समाधान कर लिया है और महत्वपूर्ण ऋण का भुगतान किया है।
