Bhopal Residents Lose Over Rs 35 Crore to Cyber-Fraud This Year
Times of India · india
Bhopal residents have lost more than Rs 35.3 crore to cyber-crime in the first nine months of 2026, with police receiving 4,179 complaints. Despite a growing number of cases, registering e-Zero FIRs remains a challenge, as the number of complaints significantly exceeds registered FIRs. The threshold for e-Zero FIRs was reduced to Rs 25,000, but delays persist due to manpower shortages and the time taken to collect victim details. Over 1,500 complaints are received daily, with only about 65% of victims receiving a callback on the same day.
