Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes' Kansas City Current have secured their third consecutive National Women's Soccer League playoff berth. The team officially clinched a spot after the Portland Thorns defeated the North Carolina Courage. Kansas City has maintained an impressive unbeaten home record of 31 consecutive matches, an NWSL record, which has helped offset inconsistent away results. With home-field advantage still in play, the Current aim for a strong finish to their regular season before the playoffs begin in November.
