Hardeep Singh Puri to Enter Rajya Sabha Unopposed After Objections Rejected

Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri is set to be elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh. The returning officer rejected objections raised by independent candidates and the Congress against Puri's nomination. The objectors claimed his affidavit was invalid and incomplete, but the returning officer found no substantiated grounds for rejection. The nomination papers of two independent candidates were also rejected due to incomplete information or missing mandatory forms. The Congress has stated they will challenge the decision in court.
